My biological mom died in February. Janice R Paradise was my sweet momma, she was so vivacious and full of life. COPD took her life away, but bipolar and schizoeffective disorder took her real life away. So glad shes in heaven now,I loved her so much even though i didnt know her that well. I'm diagnosed bipolar type 1 and know what she had to go through wasnt easy. I am proud of who i am,and I have learned to fight the stigma of mental illness!
For my father Tom who died many years ago. He said the stigma killed him. He died from alcoholism. As for me, I am sober, medicated and doing great. I attend 12 step meetings, counseling when I need it, have a great psychiatrist and am in a long-term relationship that is very successful and loving. Read all you can about it. Tell the truth about it when you deem it is appropriate. I have boundaries surrounding when I talk about it, but I do talk about it.
Hey J, I am so blessed and honored that you chose to call me for advise whether you should go directly to Emergency or... Your hubby was with you. You had suicidal thoughts and were going "down". You are now in Emergency and in the psych unit where they are taking good care of you. Good on you girl for taking your health so seriously and getting help when you really needed it the most. We at the BP group all love you and will see you soon. Alison says "hi". Hang on Sista! Luv ya very much T
My son is 26 and backsliding. I am so hurt. He is doing the right things. But the meds are not working right now.

Thanks a bunch for the info, and the blog definitely looks wonderful. Exactly what word press design are you employing?
my grandma left me loving memories no one else can take away, like rubbing my back softly to help me get to sleep, desert was the most important part of her night owl sleepovers, she would never take "no" thanks as an answer, and no matter what happened we'd always fine something to laugh about. I hold >.< I loved my nana & I HOPE I can make someone feel as loved as she did for me <3
thank you!
never give up
Prayers to my boyfriend now in Central Psych jail, police refuse to hospitalize him, insist on criminalizing him when he relapses into schizoaffective. Prayers to my friend's brother who is dying from psych drugs and may the doctors find something to cure schizophrenia holistically.
