When it comes to Mental Illness and Stigma, silence is NOT golden!
Stigma hurts. It prevents people from getting the medical help they need. It prevents them from turning to their loved ones for support. Stigma stems from ignorance; people just don't understand mental illness. Take the time today to educate someone about mental illness and bipolar disorder. "Say it Forward" is our way of spreading the word, with just a few clicks of your mouse!
How it works:

We will be tracking how many people are reached and educated about mental illness during the week leading up to National Bipolar Awareness Day. About us: International Bipolar Foundation (IBPF) was founded in San Diego, CA by four parents with children affected by bipolar disorder. Well aware of the trauma that bipolar disorder causes for patients and their families, these parents felt compelled to do something constructive to help. In June of 2007, they united their resources and founded the nonprofit organization with the desire to ensure a better future for their children and others affected by this illness. The heart-felt mission of International Bipolar Foundation is
to eliminate bipolar disorder through the advancement of research; to promote and enhance care and support services; and to erase associated stigma through public education.
